This is my take on this pop song imfluenced by Strong Successful Males U tube channel.
The man she sings about is a wealthy Chad …. the man many women want to tie down,
He walks into a party and all the women wish they could be his partner.
In the chorus Carly Simon claims “ You’ve so vain you probably thinkthis song is about you” ….but as Strong Successful male would say “Chad (a good looking man who many women are attracted to ) does’nt care…. that is how Chad and Tyrone roll”.
Carly claims she was Chads girl friend …and he told her what she wanted
to hear .. that they made a good couple, and he wanted a long term relationship…. but she was “ quite naive” … Carly was young and hot as well a being a sucessful pop singer. She thought she would marryChad…. but Chad had other plans.
He gave away the things he loved and one of them was her. She had dreams but they did not work out with Chad.
Chad makes promises to women and never keeps them ….but they will take him back in a heartbeat.
I have seen this play out with a young female music reviewer who was played by a Chad( a good looking singer and lead guitarist in a band) I warned her to just write about the musicians don.t fall in love with them.
Chad puts himself first (Doing what he wants watching his racehorse win,flying off in his private jet. He never asks women what they want to do yet they are lining up to be his lover.
Carly resents that he is always with a woman …but as SSM SAYS” THAT IS HOW CHAD AND TYRONE ROLL.”
